Through a network of coaches, trainers, teachers, and leaders, we develop youth baseball players to their fullest potential. Each athlete Commits 2 Excellence in all aspects of their lives while mastering baseball skills, sportsmanship, and character.

We are committed to offering young men a positive yet competitive environment to improve their skills in the game of baseball guided by professional coaches and teachers of the game. Our coaches have been carefully selected to assure that every ball player in our organization is being molded by a role model who strives to ensure their success both on and off the field. Our development model is focused on developing high-level baseball players who will go on to play collegiate baseball.

We have partnered with DST South and Velo Vault Sports Performance to help prepare our players for the next level.

Our players exhibit the following the following qualities and commitments:

Our Founder

Jason Krug, founder of C2 Baseball, is currently coaching in his 16th year at San Jacinto College. Prior to coaching at San Jac, he was an assistant coach at the University of Louisiana and Southwestern University. In addition, Jason spent 10 years coaching at the high school level at New Braunfels HS and within the Judson ISD in San Antonio, TX. When he is not busy working on C2 Baseball, Jason serves as Tournament Director and Event Coordinator for Texas Premier, where he has built a strong reputation as one of “the finest showcase directors in the great state of Texas.”

Recruiting Coordinator/Player Development

Chris Comstock in his 12th year coaching select baseball and his 6th year with C2 Baseball. Chris has a BS in Kinesiology, a Corrective Exercise Specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Level 2 Functional Movement Specialist, and a member of the National Strength Coaches Association. He is also certified by OnBaseU in pitching and hitting. He is also the owner of Velo Vault Sports Performance.

Chris serves as the recruiting and development coordinator as well as coaching the 17U group. Since taking over the role in 2018, over 50 players have signed to play college baseball.

Social Media Director/Head Coach

Otis McAlhany played collegiately at Salem University (NCAA DII).

Has coached for the last 10 years for various high schools and select organizations in South Carolina and Texas.

He teaches Physical Education and coaches football & baseball at The Emery/Weiner School in Houston. Coach McAlhany is in his 5th year with the C2 Baseball Organization

Administrator/Head Coach

Torry Peterson begins his fourth year coaching with the C2 Baseball Program. Torry was recently promoted from recruiting coordinator to head coach at St Thomas University. He is a proud 2006 graduate of Pearland High school where he lettered for 3 years in both baseball and football. He then went on to play baseball collegiately at Texas A&M International in Laredo, Tx before finishing his career at East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Tx, where he earned both his bachelors and masters degree. After his playing days he immediately joined the collegiate coaching ranks as an assistant coach at his Alma Matter ETBU. For the next 10 years he was a key piece In the recruiting efforts to turn around a program that eventually would be considered one of the top teams in the conference and led nationally in numerous offensive categories every year. He recruited and coached numerous MLB draft picks and All Americans.

Recruiting Advisor/Coach

A former catcher at San Jacinto College (1999-2000), Kory Koehler is now entering his 22nd season with the team. As a player, Koehler was fortunate to play in two JUCO World Series, and during his time as a volunteer assistant coach, the team has made 12 trips to Grand Junction.

Originally from North Bay, New York, Koehler graduated from the University of Houston in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science and in 2008 with a Master of Education in physical education. In the summer of 2015, he led the Houston Collegiate League Gators to a league championship.

Koehler was elected as the 2019 American Baseball Coaches Association National assistant coach of the year and was the first ever to win this award in junior college baseball.

In addition to his duties with the San Jacinto College baseball team, Koehler is a physical education professor on the San Jacinto College North Campus. He and his wife, Erika, were married in November 2006. The couple has two sons, Keaton Jax and Kason Jett.

Coach

DJ Wilson is entering his sixth season as the head baseball coach at Summer Creek for the 2021 season. In Wilson’s five seasons at SCHS, 28 players have received All District honors, 4 players have received All-Greater Houston honors and 2 players have been named to the Academic All State Team. Wilson has coached collegiate and high school baseball for 25 years.

Prior to Summer Creek High School, Wilson coached for 18 years at the collegiate level at San Jacinto College here in Houston. While a coach at San Jac, Wilson helped the Gators earn 12 trips to the Junior College World Series, 6 appearances in the National Championship game, 11 Conference Championships, and a #1 National Ranking 6 times. Wilson has also served as a Houston-area Associate Scout with the Boston Red Sox.

Coach Wilson has a Master of Education in Health & Kinesiology degree from The University of Texas at Tyler and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from The University of Houston. Wilson is married with 3 daughters.

Coach

Russell Ferrell brings a lot of coaching baseball history with him.  As a Varsity HS Baseball head coach in Texas he has 25 years of experience, both at Galveston Ball (9 years) and Clear Brook (17 years) where he has over 300 career wins, 16 years of playoff appearances, and he has coached over 60 kids who played college baseball.  As a HS coach he is most proud of having 1 former player win a HS state championship as a coach, 3 former players play in the College World Series, and 1 former player reaching MLB.

As a youngster, Ferrell grew up in Conroe, where he played for his dad Mike Ferrell at Conroe HS (THSBCA Hall of Fame).  In college Ferrell played Shortstop for Rick Butler at McClennan (88), and for John Skeeters (89-91) at Sam Houston State.

Along with his playing and coaching experiences, Ferrell threw Batting Practice for the Houston Astros from 2001-2012.  He assisted the Astros hitting coaches and players during his 12 years of service. His highlights including throwing BP for the 2004 All-Star game in Houston, and at the 2005 World Series.

Ferrell and his wife Janelle live in League City.  They have 3 kids: Sage 9, Sterling 6, and Willow 1.

Jason Willis has 27 years of coaching experience with his last 5 at CE King, 9 years at Stratford, and 3 years at Klein Forest with a total of 297 wins coming into this year He reached 300 this year!(2022). He has coached numerous collegiate and professional players throughout his career.

Coach

Kevin Schulba is the pitching coach for Dobie HS. After a highly successful pitching career in high school he went on to pitch for 3 years at Texas Southern University.

Coach

Kelly Kerlin is the Head Varsity Coach at Alvin High School. He is in his 13th year as a head coach with 141 career wins. Coach Kerlin was selected to coach in the 2022 Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 5A-6A All-Star game. He will lead a roster filled with the top players from around the Lone Star State.

Coach

DaCota Kauffman is a Giddings, Texas native and a coach at St Thomas University. He played at Giddings High School where he was a three year varsity player at shortstop. Then in college, he played collegiately at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and started at shortstop in just his freshman year. Finally, DaCota finished his career at Texas State University where he was a baseball student assistant from 2019 to 2021.

Coach

Ty Cook joined the UST baseball staff in the fall of 2021. The Baytown native had a standout career beginning at Goose Creek Memorial High School, as he pitched on the varsity team for three seasons.. He was 1st Team All District Utility, 2nd Team All District Pitcher, 3rd Team All State Outfield, and Academic All State in 2017. Cook did not stop there, as he continued to play collegiately at Our Lady of the Lake University, where he was named Pitcher of the Week and won the RRAC Conference Championship in 2021.

Coach

Gene Flores is in his 11th year coaching for Clear Brook HS. He has had many great players come through Clear Brook HS including Corey Julks in the Astros organization. He was also a very highly decorated pitcher. He was nominated as an All-State Pitcher in 1999 & 2000 for the Trojans. After Moody High School, he attended the University of Houston and played under Head Coach Rayner Noble for five years (2000-2005). He was named Honorable Mention Freshman All-American in 2001 and helped the Cougars to two super-regional appearances. He also pitched in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Coach

Miguel Torres has been the head coach at Dobie HS for 13 years and has 191 career wins coming into this season. Torres played college ball at UT Tyler and played under legendary coach Rocky Manuel in High School.
